Stone Notes: Emerald is a variety of beryl, Mohs 7.5–8, colored by chromium and vanadium. This is a natural Colombian rectangular emerald — vivid, saturated green with natural inclusions visible to the naked eye. Diamonds are natural carbon crystals, Mohs 10.
