Ametrine is a naturally occurring quartz displaying warm golden-amber citrine and deep violet-purple amethyst in a single crystal. Its natural color boundary separates the two color zones, whose appearance shifts with the angle of light. Ametrine ranks 7 on the Mohs scale. Natural inclusions are characteristic of genuine ametrine and are fully expected in these stones. Diamonds are natural carbon crystals, Mohs 10 — white, bright, and precisely placed in two-tier clusters above and below the stone.
