Stone Notes: Australian opal is a hydrated silica, Mohs 5.5–6.5, prized for its play-of-color — vivid shifting flashes that vary with the angle of light and view. Diamonds are natural carbon crystals, Mohs 10.

Clean gently with warm water and a soft damp cloth reaching between all opal and diamond prong settings; pat dry completely. Store separately in a soft pouch away from harder stones. Annual inspection recommended — verify all opal and diamond prong settings and clasp function at each inspection.
