Black coral is an organic marine material with a smooth, deeply lustrous jet-black surface, Mohs 3.5–4.0. The Burmese rubies are vivid deep red, with inclusions formed during crystal growth, a characteristic feature of ruby. Ruby ranks 9 on the Mohs scale.

Care:
