Color Note: This ruby displays a vivid pink-red. Natural rubies may contain inclusions — these are characteristics of genuine ruby, not flaws. Color may read slightly more red, pink-red, or deep magenta depending on angle and light source.

Stone Notes: Ruby is a variety of corundum — aluminum oxide — colored red by chromium. It is one of the most prized gemstones in the world, ranking 9 on the Mohs scale and second only to diamond in hardness. Diamonds are natural carbon crystals, Mohs 10.

Care: Your jewelry is a lifetime investment and a work of art — treat it with the care it deserves. Ruby is exceptionally durable, but the open wire gallery and prong settings require care. Remove before sleeping, swimming, showering, or any water activity. Never apply lotions, hairspray, perfume, or cosmetics while wearing — always put on last. Avoid prolonged exposure to perspiration. Clean gently with warm water and mild soap using a soft brush to reach the open wire gallery; pat dry thoroughly with a soft cloth. Never use ultrasonic or steam cleaners. Store separately in a soft pouch. Annual inspection recommended — verify all prong settings and gallery integrity at each inspection.
